I am an Associate Professor of Data Science and Human-Centered Computing at the Luddy School of Informatics & Computing at Indiana University Indianapolis. My research explores how visual data interfaces can be used to foster scientific discovery, engagement, and ultimately positive social change. My work employs a variety of methods, weaving together techniques from human-computer interaction, machine learning, and design thinking to investigate new approaches for visualizing and interacting with data.

My research has been recognized through Best Paper and Honorable Mention awards at premier venues in graphics, visualization, and HCI. My work has also funded by grants from the NSF, NIH, and DOE national labs, including an NSF CAREER award. I am also a recipient of the Indiana University Research Trailblazer award, and a Luddy School of Informatics Research Excellence award.
